Lovely Lists #4
To tell you the truth, I am not sorry for this girly, clichéd choice because Bridget Jones has to be my FAVOURITE movie character EVER. Whilst Bridget would no doubt embarrass you in public by doing something ridiculous, her awkward yet entertaining nature is what makes her such a loveable character, a character that many of the British public (including myself) can relate to. Be it creating a delicious concoction of blue soup, being socially awkward or simply wearing huge pants, Bridget would be the sort of friend that would have a never ending stream of stories to tell you, and to be the person to empathise with you if you too manage to embarrass yourself. Not that I ever fall over standing still or anything....
It may have been years since I first watched the film 'Elf,' but that has in no way reduced my love for Buddy at all. In case you don't know, Buddy is a man who was raised at the North Pole believing he was one of Santa's elves, but is heartbroken to hear that he was in fact a human and his real father is living in New York. After passing through the 'seven levels of the Candy Cane forest' he seeks out his father in New York and tries to adjust to the strange normality of human life. I am one of those people that no matter how old I am, will always love Christmas and I would nothing more than to 'spread Christmas cheer' with Buddy! I may not be a fan of spaghetti and syrup, but I love the optimistic attitude that Buddy has towards everything and I would love to have him as a (pardon the cheesiness) happy ray of sunshine in my life!
They say that it is important to be able to see life from other people's perspective and I can't think of anyone better than Benjamin Button. I cannot imagine what it would be like to start your life at old age and age backwards so that you die as a baby, but I would love to be able to talk to him and see how he views life. Admittedly, it would be strange and slightly frustrating to see him get younger and better looking whilst I would age and eventually become wrinkly. However, this would still be fascinating and he would be able to give a completely different outlook of the world when he is supposedly 80 in comparison to a woman who has actually been alive for 80 years.
Like Donkey, I can be a complete chatterbox and will stop at nothing so that my voice can be heard. As well as being an adorable animal, Donkey is always loyal to Shrek throughout the Shrek films and certainly fulfills his duty as being a 'noble steed.' Additionally, I'm sure we all have the urge to randomly start a sing-a-long in the middle of the day (at least, I do!), and Donkey would manage to keep us entertained even on the rainiest of days. Even now, I still have too many Donkey quotes in my head (e.g. I like that boulder, that's a nice boulder) and I'm sure that Donkey and I would have lots of little 'in jokes' between ourselves where we would have one too many catchphrases ready to be used.
As harsh as this may sound, everyone needs that sort of 'odd bod' friend who we love because they are so strange- needless to say that for me, Megan would be this friend. With her confident personality, Megan would leave you feeling confident about yourself, as well as wondering why you care about so many things- because she certainly doesn't! However, Megan is a realist and if you did become too whiny or bitchy, she would remind you that life is tough, but it isn't all that bad. Let us not forget when she bit Annie on the bum and said 'I'm life and I'm going to bite you in the ass!' But, no, I would not like that to happen to me.
