My lack of blogging has been due to a number of factors, the main one being coursework. Whilst I work full time as a marketing assistant, doing copywriting, graphic design and social media, I am also studying online a Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing which I do in my free time - so things have been pretty busy. Since February I have had two assignments and, with 5 weeks to do 4,000 words at a time, you'd think that would be easy. But wow how it hasn't. It was not finding the words that I struggled with, as a former English student I have a habit of rambling on too much and using 'flowery' language (if you haven't already noticed) and in my assignments I ended up being 4,000 words over the word count, so had to spend up to 3 days solidly cutting bits out of my hard work before I could even submit it for grading. Despite my lack of confidence I comfortably passed my first assignment *yaaaaay!* and two weeks ago submitted the second- so fingers crossed I'll have passed and then I've only got two exams to do in December!
I don't know if this counts as a reason for not blogging - but in the last few months I have just been letting myself live a little and, truth be told, I haven't felt guilty about it. I've been on quite a few nights out with the girls (drank one too many cocktails - not guilty at all), countless shopping sprees, started training for the Race for Life (a blog post will come shortly on this!) and have recently booked a girls holiday to Turkey with my bestie Chelsea, which omg I am so excited about! I won't hide that I'm a natural stresshead and the last few months have seen me learning to let go and just being 19.
I've also been throwing myself into my work at IceBlue, doing copywriting, graphic design and social media every day which I love. I am now approaching my one year work anniversary at IceBlue and cannot believe how much I have changed in the last year. As cliche as it sounds, I feel like I have done a lot of growing up. This time last year I had just finished my A-levels and was still at school, whereas now I'm in a completely different environment and pursuing what I love, whilst working alongside some of the loveliest people I could wish to be surrounded by. Work continues to teach me so much everyday and is incredibly rewarding - particularly as I have had my first features in national magazines.... but more of that to come in a blog post soon!
Having a break from blogging has definitely done me some good and but fingers crossed I'll be able to get back into a routine fairly quickly, I've got quite a few ideas and can't wait to see my little chunk of the internet start to grow again.
What have you been up to recently?
