Creativity never goes out of style- I found this quote on a postcard in Paperchase today and think it is so relevant to this award. We work hard to produce original, creative content that radiates our personalities and because of this, we have been recognised and will continue to recognise other bloggers who do the same.
I'd like to say a massive thank you to Ruth, Hannah and Emily for my nominations and I'd really recommend that you check out their blogs! As part of the Liebster Award, nominees have to answer 11 questions from the person that nominated them, and so instead of doing three blog posts, I decided to do a 3 in 1 Liebster Award blog post.
Why did you start blogging?
From an early age, I have had a passion for writing and I wanted to have a place where I could showcase my work to the world and could equally see myself grow and progress as a writer.
What inspires you most?
Other people who have worked hard, persisted and made their dreams a reality.
Who is your role model?
Sophia Amoruso - never have I felt more empowered by another woman to go out there and chase my dream.
What is your favourite pass time?
Blogging, although I wish I had more time for it, going to fitness classes and watching episodes of 'Girls.'
Who is your favourite musician?
Paloma Faith vs Beyonce vs Sia vs Haim - I can't choose haha.
How would you describe yourself in three words?
Bubbly, creative and motivated :)
What is/was your favourite subject at school?
English - whilst I'm no longer in education, it will always remain my favourite subject.
Do you have any strange talents?
I can go cross eyed with one eye at a time so it looks like they're doing a little dance (cringe haha).
Where is your dream place to live/visit?
New York. It is my dream to one day be a writer in New York, or perhaps just have an extended holiday there where I spend the whole time writing in a cafe.
What is your main goal in life?
To be happy, to be able to look back with little to no regrets, to be a successful writer and to be surrounded by people that I love.
Can you tell me any random fun fact about you?
My best friend and I have been attending Pole Fitness classes for the last two weeks - side note, it's AMAZING - and I'm trying to persuade my parents to let me have a portable pole in the garage.
If you could play any instrument, what would it be and why?
I'd love to be able to play the piano. I have a beginner's book that I have completed, but I just can't find the time to practice.
How long did it take you to decide on your blog name?
Well my original blog was called The Big Wide World (According to a Teenager), but I actually created my blog name through arranging boggle letters to form a motivational slogan for my previous blog.
Would you rather be invisible or be able to fly and why?
FLY! I'd feel so free and could escape to wherever I want... and I could sing 'Let it Go' all the time.
Who would you like to play you in the film of your life?
Probably Miranda Hart haha - we're on the same level for social awkwardness.
Are you a morning or night person?
Night - I hate the mornings with a passion.
If you were a vegetable, what would you be?
Maybe a carrot, as my latest food obsession is Carrot and Coriander soup.
If you could change your name, what would you like to be called?
I'm not sure - either something edgier than Sarah haha or after a flower like Daisy or Lily (my favourite names ever).
If you could only ever say one word again, what would it be?
I'd try and fail to be remembered as witty and insightful, maybe breathlessly saying the word 'live' and then dramatically keeling over.
Name one of your best and worst habits.
I have bitten my nails since I was 4 and can't seem to stop. If I try to stop, I subconsciously pick the skin on my fingers around my nails and it ends up really sore.
If you had to lose one of your senses, which one would it be?
Smell - it would be significantly less of a loss than the other four senses.
Do you know the meaning of your name, or were you named after anyone in particular?
Sarah is an Arabic name; at primary school in Year 4 my teacher looked up the meanings of all of our names and then designed a bookmark with the meaning on... apparently the meaning of my name was 'princess,' which, of course, 10 year old Sarah was delighted with.
Why did you start blogging?
I have always been passionate about writing and wanted somewhere to document my journey as a writer
What is your most popular/viewed post?
I think my most viewed post was the one where I, as a meat eater, went to a vegan restaurant; however the post that provoked the strongest response was about recent feelings of inadequacy as a writer/blogger.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live and why?
London- it's one of my favourite places in the world. I love the hustle and bustle of the city and that everything seems to be going on there.
What is your favourite season and why?
Summer; I love being able to sit in my garden at 9pm as the sun is only just beginning to set and be warm enough so I can still be sat out in shorts.
Are you a morning or a night person?
Night, just the thought of a morning makes me yawn.
What was the last book that you read? What did you think of it?
The last book I finished 'Not That Kind of Girl' by Lena Dunham and I am 3/4 of the way through #GIRLBOSS by Sophia Amoruso. Both are so inspiring in different ways and I can't wait to do a blog post about them.
Favourite shade and brand of lipstick?
I don't have a favourite shade, but I am always wearing the Kate Moss Rimmel lipsticks.
Favourite holiday/celebration of the year?
CHRISTMAS! The most wonderful time of the year!
What is your favourite type of weather?
Hot and sunny where I can lie down in my garden and soak up the sun's rays.
Cottage in the countryside or apartment in the city?
Apartment in the city every time!
Walking or running?
I wish I could run but as I end up feeling like I'm going to be sick and die after running to the end of my road, it will have to be walking.
